Help with application form and other query please

hello
am in process of completing forms after collecting all necessary details which has taken a few months!
Regarding non-accompanying family members declaration - we are applying under skilled worker and Andy has a daughter who lives with her mother/stepfather and is 13years old and does not want to come with us! She will be around 16/17yrs old should we ever get to Canada- I see that he has to get a notarised statutory declaration regarding proceeding to Canada without her etc. Sorry to be thick but how does he do this?
Also regarding the proof of language proficiency letter - what did everyone elso do about this?
I feel so dumb today!
One last thing - when you decide which Province you wish to settle in - can you change your mind once there or do you have to stay there for a specific time? As an electrician Andy has to go to college again so thinking of completing re-qualifications and then seeing how we feel about area chosen- is this allowed!

But as far as the Province goes UNLESS you go on a PNP (and with some conditions even then) you can move provinces as often as you want as soon as you want.

The statutory declaration is fairly easy. Any solicitor will be able to do it for you. You will need a precedent document to work from (you will then need to fill in the blanks to fit your circumstances) and it will then need to be "declared" in front of any solicitor/commissioner for oaths. The fee for declaring it will be £5.
Hope this helps

In addition to what others have said, you don't have to "land" in your stated intended destination, but you go through the landing formailities wherever you first hit Canada (except Quebec? as they have different rules). And then yes you can move whenever and wherever you like once you are here. (I think even to Quebec if you feel so inclined?)
And as for proof of language, we were advised that as we were born, raised and educated in England, with English as our first language, and we had English "O" levels, (showing my age now
) etc, it was not necessary to provide any further proof of language ability! They let us in! But I do think that some immigration lawyers insist that you have to write a cover letter or otherwise provide prooof of your language ability and how you use it in your work and such stuff. That's mainly to cover all bases as far as the lawyers are concerned....in our experience, CHC London do NOT require it.

Regarding your step-daughter, I've been in the same position with our application and I just word processed a letter stating that the current verbal financial agreement between my husband and his ex-wife with reference to their daughter would still stand. This seemed to be acceptable and was never queried.
Hope this helps.
