You aren't far from the science centre, which is pretty good.

Heritage Park is pretty much closed down for the winter - it's only open for a few days and things like the paddle steamer and the steam train don't run.

If you get a nice day, take them to the zoo - you can get there by c-train.

Take them to a Hitmen game - the WHL are still running, depends how you feel about them watching live fights :D - those are only on the ice, off the ice it's a lot safer than a footie game - they'll like Vulk.

Go on a wander through the +15's - the downtown core buildings are connected at 1st floor level - it takes about 30 minutes for an adult to do the loop.

Get a family ticket - it was only something like $45 - insist when you're at ticketmaster - they'll deny all knowledge that they exist.

Don't get a seat too close to the ice if you have little kids - they won't see anything .... especially if you sit near the benches ... also, the players' comments get a bit "colourful".

Don't drink too much beer at the Saddledome ... it's the worst and most overpriced in Calgary.

I take it thats were the games are played. Went and saw the blue jays play the beers were far to over priced. think I will stick to the bars first.

Head for 17th Avenue ... locally called the Red Mile because of the number of hockey fans it attracted during the play off run.

The Saddledome was built for the winter Olympics ... both my kids have played on the Saddledome ice ... major kudos.

It's a bit of a walk, but you can take the c-train, you'll be there in 10 minutes?

Get used to the c-train - it's free to ride on 7th Avenue.

Are you planning to look at houses while you're here?
