Welcome to the site, you will find quite a few here from Calgary and they will be able to answer your questions. Did you like toronto? Is this trip to Calgary a factfinding trip or have you made up your mind this is where you want to live? Don't forget to take something warm in October!!

October in Calgary is an odd month ... it's starts sort of mild, by Halloween it can easilly be -20C ... see what the weather is like when you get here.

Check out the Mountain Equipment Co-op for cold weather clothing prices (http://www.mec.ca) - Walmart and Zellers can be cheaper, but can sell out fast.

Got somewhere to stay yet??

Yep, know where it is ... it's on the edge of the downtown core, not too far from MEC or the c-train either.

What age are your kids? It's downtown, the roads are busy and it isn't the sort of place I would let a kid wander unsupervised.

Most certainly there is .... we're all happy smiling cowboys who ride our horses into our oil & gas office every morning, before heading off to an afternoon's skiing or golfing.

Everybody is happy, Calgary has no poor, disadvantaged or dissatisfied citizens.
