Health Insurance for visit to England
I've never bothered with this before but as I get older I'm more sensitive to health care issues.
Would anybody know whether In normal times ( ie post Covid ) it is necessary for a UK citizen who has been resident in Canada for most of his life to buy travel health insurance when visiting England ? I've searched online without finding anything definitive but I'm worried that NHS services are not free of charge for non UK residents.
Thanks for any advice.

You should make sure you have the appropriate travel/health insurance what ever country you travel to. We have been using TD, but there must be dozens of other companies out there if you Google. Call or go online for quotes, making sure it covers all your needs.

As a visitor you are not covered. NHS is for RESIDENTS.

It would depend for how long you were going to visit.
Some things are free for visitors - most not.. I agree with JG, you should get travel insurance to cover yourself

Many credit cards come with travel insurance, but read the terms carefully.

You need insurance not only for health care but also repatriation if needed, the cost of someone flying out to join you if you are seriously ill, etc, etc

If you have extended health benefits through an employer - Manulife, Blue Cross etc - you may have travel health insurance as part of that. I do with Manulife. It covers both work and personal travel.

What most people do not realise is that one should take out travel insurance when travelling to another Canadian province! That's because coverage and health care costs can differ so much between provinces, and "your" home province may not cover the cost in another more expensive province.
We priced it out 3 or 4 years ago when we were travelling by train through every province to and from BC to NS ............
It was more expensive than the last time we took out travel insurance for a 6 week trip to the UK
