No, never. :(

Typically moose don't live out here in coastal BC.

I've seen several downtown in Vancouver. Late evening seems to be the best time for moose spotting.

And I've eaten moose and bear while attending a wedding reception in Gatineau a few years back. Quite good.

I have moose steaks in my freezer. And venison. A gift from my neighbour. He gets a bit primal in the fall and kills things.

I think I've been to that bar.

They are quite common in the Highlands National Park in Cape Breton. I have seen many over the past 40 years. I had to stop on the road between Cape North and Big Interval this time last year to let a mother and what appeared to be a newly born calf cross. I had never seen that before. They make driving at night dangerous, especially in the mating season. The New Brunswick government has spent a fortune fencing off the new highway from Moncton to Freddie because of the abundant wildlife and the accidents which they were involved in.

Apparently if you are going to hit one then try not to slam on the brakes if its coming at you - I think I saw it on Mythbusters or something that more speed will carry it up and more over the roof as opposed to straight through the windshield.

Actually mythbusters showed that was the worst thing to do.. you wouldnt speed up if you were heading towards a wall....a moose is basically the same thing:(

I knew it was one or the other ;) my reaction would be just a resigned "Awww *****" just before swerving into the path of a big rig coming the other way whilst trying to avoid the moose!

I saw a mother and calf in Jasper National Park in Alberta but didn't realise it at the time. I quite literally said, "look at that funny looking elk"! :o

It was only later when I saw some pictures of moose that I realised what they were.

Before you roll your eyes again there isn't ! The animal depicted on the quarter is not a moose. It is actually a caribou. There is a big difference.

Been here two years and no moose sightings. :(

Saw one in 1993.

Elk, mountain sheep, coyotes, eagles and a wolf - but no bears or moose. This is my year - we're gonna get out there early!

First time in Nouveau Brunswick, we kept seeing signs for mooses, so we kept scrutining the woods/forests by the side of the road... nothing.
When visiting (touristing) the Acadian village near Caraquet I think, on their closing day, the guide told us she had seen one that morning on the car park!... but we didn't see any on that day, despite being one of the only 5 family visiting that afternoon.

The 2nd time we went in Quebec, up to... I forgot the name now, but well up north there near a lake and still we didn't see anything :-( well no mooses that is...

And last we went to Ontario, seen WONDERFUL THINGS THERE!!! but there weren't advertising the mooses anymore, lol, I guess it is a bit too industrialised and build up for them ;)
Mind we saw a stuffed one on the ground level of the CNN Tower... but you know what I mean?

A REAL ONE, IN THE WILD, "GRAZING HAPPILY" maybe?...

Anyone seen that?

Aline

We drove across Newfoundland and spent most of the day with our eyes on stalks looking for moose. No dice. Then it got to be dusk, and we were having to keep our eyes peeled to avoid hitting the buggers as they wandered out in front of traffic.

I've seen lots of Moose's on the transcanada in North On. They are a dime a dozen. quite a bizarre creature. If not a Darwinist, You think god was having fun when he created the moose. They not scare of you either.

Off Topic....

Anyone experience the black flys in North On it is like being in a hale storm....LOL...Tip Wash you cloths in white vinegar and don't were any smelly. I drove back to Toronto and everyone kept point and staring. when I got out the car was cover from end to end in blood and dead black flies, shit them things are nasty they home in on ya and bite too.....

I have seen a moose but, more excitingly, last weekend I saw a camel. In a field. It was standing around rather like a cow.

I saw one briefly through the old cross hairs last year in Northern Alberta, tasted quite nice ;)
