Has anyone seen a MOOSE?

I saw one just off the main highway to Ottawa from Montreal once and one while going the back roads to Greenwood, NS. Also saw one last year while touring in Denali National Park in Alaska. They are big and you don't want to mess with 'em. Also saw a Grizzly Bear and her two cubs while in Denali.
And I've eaten moose and bear while attending a wedding reception in Gatineau a few years back. Quite good.

I've seen moose in eastern Ontario (near Vankleek Hill), VT and in NH...best time of day is similar to deer...early morning and evening.

I have a permanent trail of moose poop through my yard, then when it dries out and the mower goes over it it looks like sawdust in the grass! I still have one moose roast left in the freezer. Its not my favourite, its so lean it doesn't have much taste. You have to mix it with some fat from another animal for the best taste.

I've seen a moose close up in Algonquin PArk - again from a canoe.
Also quite a few in Aberta - though not as many as Elk, deer etc.

we saw a big bull moose on the Cabot trail in Cape Breton last fall and only noticed it because there were so many cars stopped at the side of the road. The moose was lying in the ditch, chewing his cud and not feeling bothered by all the tourists who were taking photos. My friend took the photo, by approaching it within 10 meters (which is really not a good idea)
Last june in Newfoundland we saw 27 moose within 3 days. In New Brunswick I have only seen moose in Fundy National Park.

Whilst that makes sense, I don't think I would have the balls to speed up - I agree it would be like hitting a freight train
Heres a quick google search of "Car hit by moose pics"

No, never.
Typically moose don't live out here in coastal BC.
