Default Haligonian/NS Meet up

OK, so Me and Missus AX are going to visit friends and family in Halifax over the Easter weekend. Any BE Haligonians or Nova Scotians in the area fancy meeting for a pint? We'll be there Fri to Tues staying in Beaverbank.

ATB,

AX

We're up for it, there are loads of us in Halifax so hopefully you will get others responding?

Sounds like the beginning of a plan then. Any thoughts on a suitable venue?
Last time we were in Halifax we went to a pub called something like 'My fathers moustache' which sold about 100 or more different types of beer. I've also had a drunken evening in an Irish pub downtown but cant really remember where it is. All suggestions from locals gratefully received!

We will wait and see how many we get interested then decide where everyone is coming from and where they want to meet up...hows that for a plan of some sorts!

Sounds good. Rereading my earlier post I sound like an alcoholic. I'm really not...... We'll have a car so can meet up pretty much anywhere in the Halifax area either for drinks or drinks and a bite to eat.

I'm not a local anymore, but was it the Old Triangle? Great beer, great atmosphere, though so-so food. It's probably the best Irish pub (ok, one of the best pubs overall) in Halifax now.

Given that Easter is the weekend after next and that recent posts have brought Haligonians/Nova Scotians out of the woodwork I thought I would bump this thread up.

Anyone fancy meeting for a pint over the Easter weekend? (But probably not on a Sunday as everywhere will be closed eh Beaver?! )

If the venue is child friendly, we'll try to come along...

(Obviously, I'll also be busy on the Sunday, fasting until the shops reopen...)

We are also likely to be at home over the Easter weekend, so would try to come along to a get-together. During the day and child-friendly would also be best for us.

OK,

Perhaps one of the 'locals' could suggest a place to meet up. Mrs AX and I are completely flexible. The friends we stay with have a baby so if they come too, family friendly is good. As for day, howabout Saturday? (Cos as we know Halifax shuts down on a Sunday,,,,,,!)

unfortunately i can't make it as on sunday i'll be down at b&q (that's home deepoh to you folks)buying some 2x4s & 6-inch nails

i could try and arrange a video-conference if you feel you conversation may lag, after praising the virtues of the super-city

personally i would give the triangle a miss, as it's overpiced pseudo-irish tat
& the bands are crap - yet again only my opinion

how about boondocks-fisherman wharf -dartmouth side towards the airbase

you can watch the sewage accumulate from the deck, as you feast your eyes over the oh-so generic menu
