Default Had a call from the high commission!

Ive not been on for AGES sorry had lots to do and arrange!

Anyway just had a call from the high commission and i got a little worried, turns out i forgot to send my sons birth certificate so i have to post it off today.

I sent off for my kids citizenship in October and they ring me wanting this now so i wonder how much longer it will be until i get the citizenship cards!! not too long!

Anyway how have you all been?? xx

I believe that you can get emergency Canadian passports for your kids even before the citizenship certificates arrive. The point being that you could actually move to Canada without waiting for citizenship cards if you wanted to. Contact the high commission for details.

Sure make my day more complicated than it needs to be
As long as they can satisy the examining officer of their Canadian citizenship on entry then they will be fine. Even if admitted as a visitor without proof once they get such proof then they are good.
It will be up to them which route they choose but I dont forsee any problems.

Right but I was actually suggesting getting Canadian passports first. I think it's possible to obtain Canadian passports (even if they are just emergency passports) without the citizenship certs.

Im assuming they are holders of non TRV passports so no problem there if not in possession of a valid or expired Canadian passport.
They of course can contact the CHC to be issued with an emergency travel document but thats only good for 1 trip only and has to be handed back in.
Canadian citizen doesnt need a passport to enter Canada but convincing an airline of that is something else.

Exactly - and that's why I suggested an emergency passport as an option. The OP may not be in a hurry to get to Canada and be willing to wait for citizenship certs and regular passports. But it's good to know about all options.

Only if the children are under the age of 2 will a limited validity passport be issued. Otherwise it is an Facilitation visa. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resourc...2009/ob154.asp
