Default Goodbye to Canada

Well after almost 9 years it's time for me to leave Canada. Me and the 2 kids fly out tomorrow evening from Toronto and arrive in Belfast early Monday morning. I've had such a hectic time organizing everything to do with the move (mostly by myself as OH has been working away from home, since May) that it's only now that it's starting to sink in. Canada's not a bad place but for us it was just never really home, even for my Canadian OH.

Good luck to everyone who is working so hard to get to Canada I wish you all the luck in the world. And to all those already here I hope you continue to enjoy living here and if there ever comes a time when you decide to go back remember at least you gave it a go.

Awww bless you Elaine B, I hope it all goes smoothly for you.
I'm sure you will fit right back in, and have fun finding out how much this place has changed in the last 9 years. I do get a bit sad to think of leaving sometimes because it's just beautiful here (well most of it!)

On a lighter note, you will have to speak with the county elders when you get back about your initiation ceremony. It will likely involve a sack o' spuds, a bucket of potchine and the Larne ferry. Lol. Welcome Home

Is it true that Canada offers only 2 weeks annual leave per year and if so I think we may go to Australia instead !!

If holidays is the only criteria you are working with then perhaps Australia might be better for you.

Two weeks is the government mandated minimum which is in fact similar to the UK, although lots of companies give more.
