Isn't the plumbing already there? We boarded and tiled around the pipes, there wasn't too much that could go wrong with that bit.

The upstairs bathroom was the only room we hadn't really touched since we bought the place in 2004. We've been gutting it, including ripping out the hideous plastic bit around the bath. The bath pumbing was old (1980s) and didn't fit with modern faucets. It had to be changed and we got a man in for that.

The new faucet is in two parts. One is the tap/mixer bit; the other is the bath spout. Holes must be cut into the backer board for both. I am trying to get both holes as close possible to perfect because I want to minimise the risk of leaks (we are very sensitive to water damage in this house). The mixer part has a gasket but I'm not convinced it will seal over a grout line. The spout has no gasket.

I am thus trying to make the holes as perfect as I can. So far, I'm failing dismally.

My azaleas are out - came out in a real hurry one day last week.

My fruit trees are flowering now, hope it remains warm enough for the bees to do their business. fingers crossed no frost,the weather is due to change next week, cooler once again.

Bulbs are one of the many things that are dramatically cheaper at the Home Depot in the US than they are in Canada. You'd have to be buying a lot to pay for the trip just in bulbs but, if you're going anyway...
Forgive my ignorance, but isn't that going to be an issue taking bulbs/live plants across the border? Planning to go down next weekend, so might be worth popping into some places!

Bulbs and other below ground plant parts intended for consumption are not restricted.

Bulbs and other below ground plants parts intended for cultivation are restricted.

Seeds for consumption and cultivation are not restricted in small quantities.

Live plants are restricted.
