Anyone booked through skyscanner? The same AC flights are coming up nearly $200 cheaper on there- any hidden fees?

I've only ever used them to search for flights, never booked through them. Do you actually book on their website, or do they transfer you to the agent who is actually offering that price?

CHeck on kayak.co.uk (or .com) as well, I use them more often and with them you get redirected to whatever agency or website is actually offering the price.

Like ALL search engines, they are a machine to generate affiliate commissions for the owner of the website. They just happen to be specifically designed to compare prices by searching other search engines and the travel trade's online booking systems.

You click on the link generated by their search engine.

You buy your flight on the website that it leads to.

Kayak/Skyscanner/whicheverothersearchengine get anything up to about 15% of the pre-tax price of your purchase. Typically 1% for flights, up to 10 or 15% for hotels and car hire or even more for insurance (30-50% even).

It's a kind of pyramid scheme, only the customer doesn't usually get scammed, although in some cases, you will pay MORE by going via a search engine.

Sometimes it's because they are showing the price in U.S. Dollars instead of Canadian, despite it having a .ca web address.

We did DUB - YVR with Westjet a couple of weeks ago and found it pretty good. There's actually more leg room than BA/Air Canada in their configuration. The stop off in St John's is no big deal and you actually get the oppurtunity to go outside the terminal which is great, I think. And the immigration there is pretty efficient, definitely more so than in Vancouver.

We upgraded to the Plus seats for the YYZ-YVR leg and that was worth the money. Even more legroom and unlimited drinks/snacks from the cart.

I would definitely fly with them again.

Ive not checked the prices for a while but West Jet fly to Dublin now, you need a connection from there obviously.
My last flight cost $950 Edmonton to Manchester and back, BUT it was KLM and had to go Via Amsterdam,

Does rather depend on what cabin you fly in. Club and First are a much more civilised way to travel.

I was in budget seats with KLM last time, i must be getting old as i have now decided my days of budget seats are over, two cracked verts, broken tail bone, motorbike accident and a bad case of sciatica meant my last trip was painful in a budget seat but that's not KLMs fault, in future i will fly business class or i wont fly at all !
I will pay the extra for the icelandair too as they land in iceland so i can stretch my legs (6'2" here) The days of get there ASAP are now replaced by the need for comfort ! lol
As for Air Transat i had a nightmare flight with them once and would rather go back by row boat than fly with them again.

The great thing with BA Club World, the seats go fully flat and you can get a good nights sleep on the flight over. Well worth the extra.

well i have sleep apnea and snore really really loudly lol doubt i can plug my machine in on any planes which is a shame, I tend to stay awake rather then keep everyone around me awake if i try to sleep, that means shortest flight time is best.
