Canadian Affair have always seemed the best of the low-cost/low weight allowance carriers to me. Get the Thomas Cook flights rather than the other ones as you get much wider, better spaced, and nicer seats. But that's barring lost bags/being put in economy after paying for Premium which a few people seem to have experienced.

Zoom and Air Transat cost more than C. Affair, and if you're 6' or taller, you will have no fun during your 7 hour + flight.

Found some great links last year which I peruse comprehensively before booking a flight anywhere.... Look up the type of plane you're flying on, which seats are good, what the entertainment's like etc. Hope they help.

http://www.seatguru.com/ - lists details only for the larger carriers, good for maps etc.

http://www.airlinequality.com/ - more general, lots of info and passenger reviews even on the smaller operators. Great site.

As I've said above - I'm 6' 2" and have never had any trouble with Zoom - can't comment about Air Transat

Myself and the two kiddies flew with Canadian Affair in June.

We flew on the My Travel, I have to say we had no problems at all....I was very impressed with the TV's in the back of the seat....kept the kiddies amused.

I would definitely use them again.
