In the Hull sector of Gatineau they have built a whole series of them and they are designed the proper way. In Almonte, Ontario they are building one and they have a pamphlet at the Town Hall on how to go through the roundabout...thankfully once you are in, you have the right of way. I think the one that was described to you is pretty rare and it should have signs telling you that. |

Kitchener-Waterloo area has at least a couple that I know of, and I"m told they plan to replace more intersections with them. The ones I've been around were the standard 'vehicles joining have to give way'-type, though I'll definitely have to try the experimental farm one out for fun.
My OH likes roundabouts after she tried her first one, though she was understandable nervous having been around the Magic Roundabout in Swindon with me. |
