Finnair - anyone flown with them?
looking at cheap flights back to uk for a holiday and wondered if anyone else has used them to/from UK/Canada? Through gotraveldirect.com.
Just wanted to get experiences and comparisons to other budget airlines - thanks!

National carrier of Finland. I have flow with them from UK to Helsinki to Japan a couple of times. They are as good as anyone else.

FWIW these means you get BA Air Miles when you fly them, or can use BA Air Miles towards a Finnair flight.

That said, I loved Finnair when I had a work trip to northern Finland. Transiting through Helsinki was a breeze compared to, say, Heathrow or Frankfurt - and I was much more impressed with the Finnair planes and service compared to BA (flew out on a BA flight, back with Finnair - they codeshare this route, but it's not too hard to work out which flights are which)

I flew Finnair last summer and it was the worst airline i have have ever flown with. Not only were they rude but completely unreasonable when they decided to change the flight schedule 1 week before departure and leave me sitting in an airport for 8 hours and an extra 2 stops. I had booked the ticket 6 months in advance. They wouldnt even give me mealtickets. Never again I say!

I flew 132 times in 2008, so I feel qualified to share my views.
All airline food is crap (take your own if it is an issue), there is not that much difference between a good economy seat and a bad economy seat (they are all slightly uncomfortable), it's only a few hour out of your life, if time is not an issue and you are paying for the flights yourself, go for the cheapest flight you can.
