Default Financing / Business

I want to start a buisness up in Canada and would like to know if many people here have?
Also does anybody know what kind of financing you can get being
a) new to the country
b) a new business venture.
Im guessing you wouldnt get much financing at all?

there are a few banks here that offer many options for new arrivals, you will obviously need some equity of your own...

I have found Scotiabank o be very helpful....

Although I think BMO and CIBC also have similar products

I did it a few years ago. The process is really no different from the UK.

Present a business plan to the lender, show how much of your own $ you're committing to the project and negotiate from there.

I secured a commercial mortgage, low interest (under 1%) leases on machinery and a credit line without any difficulty, all within a week of arrival on a temporary work permit.
