Who knows how successful they will be? I think the biggest move to competition in the Canadian market was Bell and Telus introducing HSPA networks a month or two back. Prior to this, Rogers was the only network that was physically capable of providing phones like the iPhone.

Plus you've got Dave Wireless coming out at some point in the new year. Don't know what name they'll be operating under though.

Well, hopefully not "Dave". I mean, c'mon ....

Although it's hard to see why Dave's is any more laughable than Roger's ... it's what you get used to hearing ..... how about Bill's next?

All i ever think when I hear about more phone companies, is bloody hell, more nobs to deal with when trying to get phone records for investigations, telus is awful.
I did catch something about Canada having the most expensive rates in the world, so competition is good.

It should be pointed out that you're willingly paying this money to these so called thieves. Having a cell phone isn't compulsory last time I checked. If you don't want to pay it, don't pay it.

staved off the wolves for as long as possible, until employer demanded all employees TAKE a BELL cellphone, and pay for it too. Downhill after that.

Then they insisted on Telus blackberry with them paying for the data plan. Very smart, until they received the bills!!!!!. All that after a whole 'communications' department was supposed to have done research and gotten best value!!!
