I'll be shocked if it's at 8am, they said that for my PR card renewal and I was there for ages before I got it.

We did the test and ceremony just last week. Like you we couldn't attend the first test in Edmonton at the end of February this year. So the second test for us took just 3 months.

Based on what others have posted, it may take some time for a new test date if you do not show up. Can you cancel your Toronto trip? (is it really as important?)

Yes. Unfortunately it's for the wedding of my daughter's godmother and one of my husband's oldest and dearest friends. He is the MC at their wedding. Also, we booked on points so we would be dinged for that. We are going to see if we can change flights don't know how gross our choices are yet.

Am really torn tbh.

Get them to call it off then. The wedding can be postponed and rebooked some time this century, unlike your invite to do the quiz. Alternatively have a big fall out with family days before and make up with them days after. Well that's my approach.

The letter says I'm scheduled to take the test on June 28th at 8am. Crazy we got our letters within a day of each other, I blame the strike. 8am? How much money do you want to bet I sit there for 1-2 hours before I take the test?

Good luck to all taking the test. Have you found the fab website yet that you can do practice tests on? It really helped me as with two small children and other things on the go, I didnt know where to start with the booklet they sent! I did read it but along with doing the online tests made me feel confident.

You will have to be there for 8am, but most likely wont start the test until nearer 9am as you have to line up, give your info and passports, and they ask questions before they let you in to sit the test.
Its only once everyone in the lineup is done and dusted, do they start the test.
Good luck!!!

What I want to know is which version of Discover Canada I'm going to be tested on, the one they sent me or the current one? The current one has more stuff about the War of 1812 and Quebec in it.

Anyway, not worried about it, I know the Lt Gov is Donald Ethell.

The best thing I think anyone who moves to Canada can do to learn the history of the country is to watch: Canada: A People's History, which you can get from the CBC shop for $120 for the whole series. That sounds like a lot but you definitely get your money's worth. Best CBC show I've ever watched.
