I enjoy listening to him, I don't agree at all with his politics but he's much more entertaining than a regular bland dj. And If your shocked by Stern you must have lead a sheltered life, wherever I have worked the banter has been much more colourful. It reminds me of the time I went into a friends house and said I was 'knackered', his mother almost had a heart attack as she classed It as a swear word.

The UK has its own HOWARD STERN wannabees in the form of Chris Evans and Chris Moyles. Evans is off the air last time I checked, and am sure Moyles will be following him soon.

Give me Mark and Lard anyday !

It has nothing to do with whether I lived a sheltered life or not. The man is rude, vulgar and filthy. Why do you think he is banned in Canada and has been taken off the air at least 2x in New York.

Each to his own regarding humour. I certainly enjoy a dirty joke as much as the next person, but don't criticize my lifestyle because I would prefer some good clean fun, instead of listening to some man in the States trying to outdo himself being vulgar.

everyone is entitled to their own opinion.. what some would classify as a waste of time, could be heaven for others. and similarly for vulgarity. howard stern may not be your cup of tea (heck i cant stand the guy) but just because you cant understand why people like him, doesnt mean they are wasting their time. similarly, just because you dont like him, does not mean you've led a sheltered life...

now i'll go back to whittling precious hours away on my PS2

Gee, did I miss something here? Did someone die and make you the referee for this thread?

you really need to chill out and stop taking things so personally...

i was actually stating that both of you had opinions, but that it wasnt necessary to criticise each other as a result. last time i recall, freedom of speech was still a basic right here.

And freedom of speech includes having disagreements with others during discussions. This was not a "heated" discussion that needed to refereed.

you're absolutely right - freedom of speech does include that. and i was merely stating a balanced view. it wasnt necessary to come back with that kind of retort.

but im not going to get dragged into a back and forth on this one. getting emotional online is an exercise in futility.
