For some reason I can't find any salary information for real estate agent jobs in Canada on the Internet. This is the job I would like, I am going to a real estate academy here in Australia in 09 and then going to work for a real estate firm for a few years but I would like to eventually move to Canada and further my career over there.

I suspect they are 100% commission-based.

A couple of realtors post on here but they're out west and probably won't wake up for a few hours.

No salary, its 100% Commission.

You are not an employee but an independent contractor, so have to pay all your own expenses, health, car, office, advertising etc., etc., etc.

As stated, commission based only. If one is good at it a great deal of money can be made, but there are many, probably thousands, who are qualified but earn minimum incomes. We, like many other countries, are now in recession and probably the first thing to get hit is real estate. R/E salespeople are going to find it tough over the next couple of years.
