The Emigrate shows this and next weekend are a little too far away for us - but we were briefly thinking about going just to ask which SW applications CHC is currently processing.
For those of you who went this weekend - Did the CHC mention which applications they are currently processing or where they think they will be at by the end of the year? Did anyone ask the question at the CHC stand?
For those of you going next weekend - If you do manage to get an answer to this question, please don't leave us in suspense.

I have been getting the mag for months now and find that this is more helpful than one of the shows.
like the other poster pointed out, depends on what you are looking for.
If you go on the muchmor site, you can look at back copys, really helpful

we were going to go to the one at Sandown in March, unfortunately OH had a trip to Prague already booked for then, however, the same weekend I went to an expo at Earls Court which included info about relocation/emigration and I did speak with a CIC rep for a few mins.

I fully concur with the previous person who wrote about the delights of having a day off from the ankle biters.
We attended the York show and I personally found that you can gain far more information on this site than you will at these shows, although in fairness we did have our minds put at rest in terms of our pooch and who she will fly with and the crate she will be in.
The Canadian section was small and cramped and with the advent of the internet I found the whole thing very disappointing.

Hi Guys,
My Husband and I attended the show in York on Saturday - to be honest, I agree with most comments on here that there were a lot of consultants simply wanting your money. However, the best thing we found that the research we have completed for the last few months was correct! We had got to the point where we had information overload and just needed a few points clarified which we successfully did!
We researched all the companies that would be there by pulling off the list of exhibitors so we could go directly to the representatives we needed with direct questions.
If you research extensively, there is no need to worry about using consultants - you just need a company that will advise and reassure you like Canilink or UK2Canada.
Hope that makes sense!!!

My husband am i set out for the show inYork yesterday, took one look through the doors and headed off for a lovely afternoon in scarbrough instead, it looked liked you were just going to get hassled by people trying to sell you their services so off to the sea for fish and chips and a donut
totally relaxing afternoon talking about our beloved NS and discussing strategies for getting there ASAP (all ideas greatfully recieved)

Just to put the record straight......I must have been doing wishful thinking when I said that Emigrate Canada reported that CIC were processing June 05 last month. So sorry it was May 2005 and the October issue says they are still processing May 2005.
Sorry if this got anyone excited.

Hi Guys,
we are thinking of going to the Cov show this coming weekend. The main reason is, we are hoping that there will be someone there to advice us ( mainly wife Tracey) about getting a job as an early childhood educator, it's on the shortage skilled list. The main problem we are having is finding somewhere that knows about the emigration system and the LMO process. Did any of you guys happen to see anything in the education department that might help us please?????
We have got some complementary tickets of a very good realtor in Calgary area, called Julie Parry, so at least there will be someone there we will know.
Thanks to you all,
regards,
Carl.
oh if anybody is going on the Saturday and fancies saying hi when we are there, please pass on your details to us and we will do the same and we will keep an eye out?
