Education in Vancouver
Hi myself and my family are currently trying to emigrate to Canada. My husband has had a job offer in Vancouver so we are obviously researching everything here. We have a 5 year old girl who is in P2 here (Northern Ireland). I have seen on a website that I would have to register her at the District Reception and Placement Centre (DRPC). However it says on this site that I would have to register her between November and January. Does this mean if we were in Canada by the summer I would have to wait until November to register her for school? I would not be able to get her into school in September? If anyone has any experience of this or knows anymore I would really appreciate any help. Thanks

Re: Education in Vancouver
Hello,
We landed in Vanocuver from the UK in July this year and were able to enroll at the District Reception and Placement Centre (DRPC) with no problems at all. Between November and January you can enroll at the schools but during the summer you can only go to the DRPC. It is open all summer.
My advice is for you to get there just before opening time and then you should be in and out within the hour, otherwise you may have a long wait.
Good luck.
