ECAS
Hi Guys, great site with loads of info, was only introduced to it a few weeks ago - cheers 
Can someone please tell me what ECAS is, where i find it and how I can see application updates on there.

Firstly, its not that reliable. CIC website has a link on the right hand side to allow you to check your application status:

Here you can login (as long as you have a Identification Type and Number) and it will then request your surname etc. If you application has been setup in the system it will show the details and 'In Progress'. Sometimes when the 'In Progress' description is selected it gives a breakdown of where you are in the process but mine hasn't and its been setup since Oct 2007.
