That's true. It is hard to find Easter eggs here with a similarly obscene amount of over packaging.

never had a problem finding chocolate eggs / bunnies / chicks to scoff.

Don't even notice that there's a different taste anymore - however tbh the choccie doesn't touch the sides

They've probably changed somewhat since you last saw a UK one

Typically a UK egg will be of a "theme", lets say Twix just for example, so there will be a hollow choc egg and then some of the themed item included. At one time they used to put the said item inside the egg, but now it's generally just included alongside...

Example :-

Lots more examples on the page where this image comes from - http://www.easter-eggs.org.uk/

Those types of eggs are readily available here although as far as I know they still put the stuff inside the egg.

You really need to get out more.

I've not seen them or in the US either.... I even asked the wife and she confirmed she hasn't seen them. Maybe they're popular in the wild west to satisfy the large Brit contingent?

I have however seen choc rabbits - my son may have to make do with one of those

Try Shoppers Drug Mart, Wal-Mart, Real Canadian Superstore they should at least give you a start.

Wow, so giving up something for lent involves the sacrifice of something you love?

Would giving up one of your kids be easier? Less stressful for sure

I'm just back from Wal-Mart where I saw plenty of large chocolate bunnies, cartoon characters and hockey players. There were a couple of eggs but nothing like the ones in the UK.
