The easiest way is to marry a Canadian and apply as a spouse! Otherwise you have to apply as an independant applicant and meet the points requirements.

and the easiest way to find out which immigration program's point system you qualify for is to use an automated assessment that instantly gives you your results, one that will take your information and assess you against all point system immigration programs to find out which ones you qualify towards, as there are many point system immigration programs. Go to http://www.google.com and search using keywords:

canada assessment

you should find 1 or two on the first or second page.

Also check out the Canadian immigration website at http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/index.html which lists the various categories to go for and the points needed. It will list what checks you have to go through ie police, medical etc., fees to be paid and what forms are needed. You can also download the forms for free. Another suggestion is to go to the Canadian consulate in Buffalo which is where you'd apply from the States as they have forms also. http://www.dfait-maeci.gc.ca/can-am/...cat=1185&typ=1
