Hi everyone,
I was expecting to begin work in Calagry in January, but after just now speaking to the company, it seems I may be sent to Drumheller.
Does anyone on the forum have any knowledge of life and living in Drumheller?
Many thanks
Andy

I know of at least one person on here from there. I'll send them a message.

Drumheller is stuck in the past. There's just a bunch of relics living there. They're so old they're fossils.

Cool landscape. Great place to visit. I wouldn't mind living there. Mandi will fill you in with more helpful detail.
Apparently there is every single cult you can imagine in and around Drum. Only heresay though

There's a hundred foot tall T-rex in the middle of town, and lots of other concrete and plaster dinosaurs all over the place. There's a reptile zoo, and then there's the real thing.
Tyrell Museum, IMHO a world class donosaur mueum highliting local finds, or which there are many. Alberta has its own dinosaur, the Albertosaurus!

Other claims to fame Jaydee Bixby came second in Canadian Idol! I know his mom.
The landscape (called the Badlands) comes right out of a science fiction movie.
It's small town alberta with friendly people, who become oblivious to all the dino crap in their town.

Thanks for all the replies.
A quick question for you Alan B as you live near Drumheller.
I've not been able to locate any rental properties at all in Drumheller only hotels and a couple of holiday rentals. Where would you suggest I try that is not too far out.
Thanks again

I don't know about living there, we visited on a Sunday and it seemed pretty quiet. The Tyrell Museum museum is a fantastic museum and the surrounding landscape, particularly nearby Hoodoos, is pretty spectacular:

Ok, so here is the link to available rentals in this weeks drumheller valley times,
http://www.drumhellervalleytimes.com...13122&-nothing
as most people discover, there are not really such things as letting agents, and the realtors don't do rentals, so its quite difficult to find stuff,
anyone wanting to rent nearer me ( unlikely, as we are 30-40 mins from Drum, although we have friends who commute) I have the local town councils list of landlords with property available, it was invaluable for us and we found something in no time at all, and had it all arranged before we arrived, contact me off list,
Hope this helps
