I'd be curious to know what is on the curriculum in Canada given how bad driving is.
Really I'd get your license in the UK as it's a higher standard and more tradable. I believe if you obtain a license in Canada and head back you can only exchange for a license for an automatic vehicle.
That being said apparently we'll all be driving automatics anyway with these EV's.

Get the UK one if you can.
It's harder for sure, but it's convertible to more countries, and it lasts into your 70s with just a 10-year renewal for the photo card.
If you get the Canadian one there's a good chance if you go back to the UK and try to convert it you'll be restricted to cars with automatic transmissions.
If you want to drive in Canada for more than 6 months you'll need to convert it to a Canadian one, but having had it will make it a lot easier if you go back.
