Finally decided now's the time to do something about all the dreams we never chased till now.
we want to start the process of moving to Canada does anyone out there have any recommendations as to who we could use to aid our application.
Any help and advice greatly appreciated.

Unless you have particularly complicated circumstances, then it's unlikely you'll need to use anybody to help you - apart from us lot of course!
Most people on here do it without the help of any agency/consultant and save a fortune in fees. It will depend on the route you take though, but most people need to try and find a job first to stand any chance of getting to Canada, and that's not something any immigration agency can do for you (illegal in most provinces in Canada for them to charge you anything to help find work). So you'll have to do the job hunting yourself and then the application form for a Temporary Work Permit is only 2 pages long so not much point in paying someone to help you fill it in!!
Your best bet is to start with this Wiki article, try and understand a bit of the immigration process and then shout with any questions. http://britishexpats.com/wiki/Quick_...an_Immigration
Good luck.

Some companies dont charge you a penny
And they can get you jobs too.. But for some reason they are always looked down apon if you use this route... But why go through the hassle and work if someone else will do it for you.
We used Atkins West and they have been more than helpful and still are helping ... cost to ourselves 0pounds. The employer pays not the employee.
But then you got all the companies in the backs of newspapers who may not be soo good.. but its all about the research.

Re: The Dream
It's just that it angers most of us when we read on here of people who have naively paid thousands of pounds to a company for something that they could have easily done themselves! There are many cases when I would recommend the use of an immigration lawyer or consultant, and certainly if a potential employer will pay for it (as is happening in our case as well) then it's well worth it as long as people use a reputable and licensed one, as you have.

Re: The Dream
Thanks for sharing this info kirstya, we too are looking to move to the Vernon / Kelowna area. We went on a recce to the area in September and OH got signed up with one employment agency though we've been trying to find some more contacts to broaden our search for OH's job. So we'll definitely check out Atkins West. Thanks
