We are already here in VI and my parents were going to bring my dog over, but my dad is unwell and i would like to get my dog here asap, as my parents are struggling with looking after her, my daughter and their own health.
Can anyone give me links to companies that fly dogs out, and any info you may have as to price wise. She is a small cocker spaniel. Thanks.

We ended up bringing one of our dogs as excess baggage, as it is much cheaper (and leaving the larger one with friends ) but we did get lots of quotes beforehand. If you cannot have someone accompany her, we found http://www.jets4pets.co.uk/ to be very helpful and also have the most competative quote (just over £1000 for the 2 dogs; a whippet and a lab.) I know that sounds extortionate, but some other companies were asking up to £1900 for them!!! These prices would obviously be mainly for the labrador, as she weighed much more than the whippet.

They were also based on having travel kennels custom made, but in the end we used a Pet Cargo 600 for the whippet as we were taking her ourselves.

Rather than get a company to ship the dog, why not pay for a flight for your son to come visit you and he can bring the dog. Or you could pop back to visit him and bring doggie back with you! Lot cheaper and you get to see your son too!

I guess I must have missed another post - she says she has a daughter and a cocker spaniel - where does the son come into it??

I have inside information!

We had our cocker spaniel sent over in March with Skymaster who are based at Manchester Airport, it cost approx 480 pounds. The service was excellent and Harvey arrived safe and sound.

Thats great. will check out that company. Some people say to me "oh just buy another dog and leave her ther"... Thats so hurtful. She is one of the family now.

Prefer to leave kids behind rather than the dogs

Believe me its worth bringing the kids cus they cause you more hassle at home and you cant get your hands on them to throttle them when you this far away.:curse:
