Yes that is the way I would go to Calgary, fly into Vancouver and then onwards. It must be a really long flight with connections if flying into Toronto first??

Toronto then onward flight didn't seem to be a viable option since for example Westjet limits the size of the pet carriers to 36" which is too small for our dogs
