My OH earnt $1130.08 gross last week and bought home $783.05 - after making deductions of $39.55 union dues, $52.61 CPP, $19.55 EI, $223.62 Federal Income Tax and $11.70 Union Training.

I think your OH needs to check why he is being taxed so high - like someone else says - it could be that he is being taxed as a single man. My OH's workmate is taxed as such and comes home with less than my OH even though they both bring home the same gross amount.
