Re: Differences between Canadian and British people
A year or so back I was on vacation in Vancouver, went into a pretty nice bar in Gastown, Strongbow was at the top of their fancily designed list of 'English speciality cider'. I cried.

I live with a cider drinker and so I know Strongbow and Magners are everywhere, as Bud Lite and Coors Lite are everywhere. However, as with beer, there are no end of other choices. In Vancouver, Sea Cider was highly thought of.

I used to buy Growers Cider in summer but it gave me a headache so I stopped. I have the occasional Big Rock cider and don't mind it.

I never really got cider until 3 months ago. It kind of makes sense in the summer because you can load it with ice so you are a little more hydrated and it lasts longer if it is a long day of drinking also reducing your bill. Unlike beer the ice doesn't detach the flavour to much and reduces the sweetness which is a good thing.
Also cider obviously has no gluten so a bit of a fad drink now too.
