I taught 'core' French language for much of my career to uni-lingual English speakers. For the last several years , I was in a school where there was a French Immersion stream located on the same floor as myself. For cross ventilation , I always had my door open. I noticed while I was teaching that three of the FI teachers from Quebec originally, were often standing and listening at the door. I was somewhat perturbed thinking I was doing something wrong. Eventually, I asked them about this. The most senior of the FI teachers told me that they had decided that they should be speaking French more like the way I did.

UK and Canada are about on a par here.

OECD put Britain at 24.7% obese and Canada at 25.4%

WHO say 61.5% of Brits are overweight or obese, and 60.5% of Canadians

Good links. From figure 2 in the OECD chart it looks like England has a higher rate of obesity now than the USA 20 years ago. Scary!

I suspect that's because the Brits came later to the fast food industry. Once available to them they embraced it wholeheartedly.

I agree. We can blame the Americans for much of this obesity problem.
