<chuckles at the very concept of designer clothes in Canada or Wyoming>

I can't imagine you could get to a place with fashion without using a plane. San Francisco is likely the nearest place but it might be cheaper to fly elsewhere. NYC is the obvious destination, that's where people from Toronto who care about clothes go.

I don't believe that northern Montana (I believe that Montana is the closest place to southern AB in the USA), is on the cutting edge of fashion. Most of it is probably available via mail order via the internet. Or a quick trip to SF, LA, Seattle or if you are in Toronto a quick trip to the grubby rust belt known as Niagara Falls, NY (a sure reminder that the grass is not always greener in the USA is a day trip to Niagara Falls, NY, the town that beauty took a detour around).

Detroit, rather than Buffalo, surely. One of my children drove there this very weekend (through that storm) because she wanted shoes to match an outfit for some event this week.

Daytrois is a 4 hour drive from Toronto while Buffalo/NFNY is only 1.5 hours. There is the Walden Galleria Mall and the Factory Outlet Mall in NFNY that would tick all of the boxes I would think. Detroit shopping is out in the burbs at places like Fairlane Town Centre in Dearborn and some places further out.

Wow that is dedication (or some other adjective) to drive in that weather for clothing....hope it is worth it.

The most efficient way to do this is to fly to Las Vegas, and visit the outlet malls.

Of course, if you factor in the air fare, you'd be better off staying at home and buying Calgary's more expensive clothes.

But some people like going to Las Vegas anyway, and while they're there they go to the outlet malls.

I too hope the shoes were worth it, the truck has a V8 so that was a couple of hundred bucks in petrol before the cost of the footwear. Even I, a lover of good heels, wonder if she couldn't have done with a trip to Montreal.

You may be told there is great shopping in Great Falls, Montana - we couldn't find it!

There are often bus trips to Spokane - but not been there myself.

I would see about buying online myself!

us. from edmonton looking at potentially trips to seattle, or colorado during other trips there. looking at several hours flight though and the relevant cost of this. Sears sell timberland, the classic boot is $200, same thing in banff last week $240. there is a big dept store in AB whose name escapes me that sells the lot but with prices to match, boss sweater $330, pair of jeans $400. armani polo shirt $150, ralph t-shirt $80. i can remember all this as i have a liking for clothes but not the prices, so whilst christmas shopping put all this stuff back which i picked up and went to gap. i know.
tried tinernet for outlet shopping, the ones i found do not deliver.

For designer stuff round here the best place is the Somerset Collection (not a mall, it's a collection doncha know!) - 2 malls, sorry, collections across a road connected by glass travelator. One side is very posh (Kate Spade, Gucci, Tiffany, MontBlanc, Armani, Barneys NY, Neiman Marcus, Louis Vuitton, Salvatore Ferragamo...etc) the other has Gap, Pottery Barn, Apple Store and other "high street" names.

From here Chicago is only 3.5hrs and the shopping is even better there. But neither here nor Chicago is exactly reachable from Calgary. I'd have thought Holt Renfrew was your best bet there, and just suck up the prices
