The point of comparing them to small towns in the uk is there is nothing in them either NOTHING - but people still live there. I did say the difference is the distance to a big City.

Any bets if you live in a bigger town the Dawson Creek you'll find more drugs there than in Dawson Creek.

Quite so. Thing is, I don't know anyone who likes it. Been there maybe forty or fifty times. There is a reason my local office up there refers to itself as Twin Peaks.

You did say the difference was the distance, I fully acknowledge that. However, even small towns in England have a deeper gene pool.

Dawson Creek and FSJ have proportionally more service users (MHSD, CLBC and MCFD) than anywhere else in BC. That, I am afraid, speaks volumes.

I love these threads.................. I find Dawson Creek and Fort St John pretty friendly whenever I go there................ but I live in the other 'Hell Hole' of BC, Prince George! So it's maybe not a good guide to work from................ as I am obviously 'damaged' anyway

Monkman Park, just south of Tumbler Ridge (Near Dawson Creek) is a great place to visit.

Thanks for the replies - although I think some have transgressed a little into fighting over the city v country lifestyle. This is always a personal choice and having experienced both, I still feel that although you are isolated in somewhere like Dawson Creek - you still have your Wal Mart and other facilities.

Also I feel that community spirit is closer, you get to know people better as opposed to a large city where you only have a circle of friends and people don't know or bother with each other - from what I have found over here!!

So thanks again. Anything positive with smalltown life let me know.

Much appreciated

Isn't the big plus with small towns the lack of a Wal-Mart?
