R. Me too. I have to go up there quite often, unfortunately. FSJ is riddled with drugs. It may well have been OK in seventies, but is not now. Even die hard BC fans will confess that they would not move up there from Southern BC if their lives depended on it. Comparing it to towns with similar populations in the UK is pointless. There is NOTHING up there - NOTHING. At least you can quickly drive to a big city from a small town in the UK..... |

Not everyone likes to live in a big city with as much crime and drugs as you could shake a stick at - if you know where to look - just to go to theg latest theatre or see the latest frock in the dress shop. The point of comparing them to small towns in the uk is there is nothing in them either NOTHING - but people still live there. I did say the difference is the distance to a big City. YOU GO THERE. Friends that live in Dawson Creek say you can get most everything in Town and what you can't you normally don't need or can get when you fancy a long weekend trip some where. It's a life style choice. Any bets if you live in a bigger town the Dawson Creek you'll find more drugs there than in Dawson Creek. How the hell do farmers in the middle of nowhere live? I bet a few miilion Southern Bcer's wouldn't live on a farm. |

A couple years of exposure to the general f@ckwittedness, retardation, ineptitude, and small mindedness of "Smallville BC" and most people of average intelligence would go nuts crazy. The concept of rural romance and quaintness of small town life as espoused by people is generally made by those that do not, or have not, lived in such backward holes. R. |

Your missing the point because you don't like it doesn't mean others won't like it.

There are over 11,500 people living Dawson Creek and over 18,000 living Fort St.John there must be something up there that they like and it can't be drugs for all of them. |

No - the point is that people do not "live there" - they merely "exist/subsist".

I should have stayed out of this thread as I said earlier today, I don't need this kind of aggravation at this point in my life. I will no longer comment on this topic. |
