Excellent Thai (including Malaysian style Mussamun curry, which is my fave) in the burnaby side of Hastings. Thai Cafe and Chad Thai on Hastings

Bombay Beat, Taj Mahal and Handi on Hastings. I have no idea if they are british style indian or not.

There's also a good malaysian further west but can't remember name right now.

Thanks all.

I do pretty good Thai myself, especially a massaman. Ingredients here are excellent, especially the lemongrass, it so fragrant. Ive got some scotch bonets smoking in the fridge.

Maurya is okay but a bit spendy and usually empty. India Bistro on Davie St. is not too bad. Go nearer the weekend when they have the good chefs in. Also don't do the korma, its complete shit. The chicken jalfrazi is good though.

A trusted source recommends Tandoori Palace on Commercial & Grant. Apparently the lamb curry with dahl, naan & rice is incredible.
