Default Cranbrook, Nelson, Prince George

Hi all,

Have seen some properties in the above towns and have had a look on the internet about them but can any of you wise owls out there tell me a little more about these towns as although you learn alot from websites its not the same as it is for people who actually live there or have been there.

Cheers

Don't know anything about Prince George. I have been to Cranbrook and Nelson. They are both in the Kootenays. Both very pretty surrounded by mountains and trees. I don't know much about what kind of work there is. I assume there might be logging and stuff like that. I have a friend whose daughter lives in Cranbrook but I can't remember what her husband does for a living.

You could look here

http://www.mls.ca/map.aspx?AreaID=1107

to see how much houses cost.

If you want more specific answers I guess you will have to ask more specific questions.

The Kootenays are beautiful. Very touristy in the summer and dead in the winter. Not much work around I would guess but a lovely place to retire to or to go on holiday to. Very, very pretty though. Miles away from anywhere in particular and a long old haul from Vancouver.

Nelson is full of American draft dodging hippies.

Prince George is dreadful. Had to go up there very recently for a work related matter and I could not wait to leave, horrible little dive. Cranbrook is the nicest looking of the three - small town and all that goes with that, but definitely pretty. Nelson I drove through once and know nothing about it.

I was considering Prince George as a destination.

I have since been told that it is a backwoods logging town.

Not a good place to live with no employment prospects.

I would give it a miss if I were you.
