I commented last week that it was getting too much. Then I thought about it some more and considered that maybe I was just being too miserable so I withdrew my original comments. Original threads are bound to go off topic and it's only natural that jokes and banter will come into it. But the fact remains that this is a forum for Canadian discussion and I don't see why people see the need to just start a joke thread that has no connection with this forum at all. Occasionally it's going to happen but it would be nice to see people just generally go along with what people expect to find here. Of course, no one has to be here, no one has to read anything here but I just want to see a balance. It seemed that recently there wasn't anything but oneliners to read. Those that love that kind of thing are bound too see people like me as a killjoy but as much as there might be a place for that there's also a need for not lowering (or even raising) everything to just one big laugh-in. If that does happen then the jokers will remain and the more serious minded will go. It just seems to me that there should be a balance for everyone and that it's only right that people get to have a little of everything. I'm not sure that extra lounges need to made it just needs everybody to try and respect each other. I don't want to be a killjoy but I don't like seeing a person ask a serious question here only to find the very first answer is a one liner that reduces the thread to a joke-in session. It could at least wait until page 2! Anyway I might be wrong, I might be right but this is what I think and I've watched what's gone on here for the last three years. It's been harder to find the interest more recently.
