Is there a Costco nearby.

I can't say for sure as I have never used them but I've seen reports that Costco charges the lowest dispensing fees.

I also understand that you do not need to be a member to get prescriptions filled, just tell the person on the door that you are going to the pharmacy.

Q1 Abstenance, or sterilization are both cheaper.

Q2 The hoppers will die soon when the weather's colder. They're not known to cause harm to kids or dogs. Rest easy.

First the low-cost airline going bust, and now this.

I got all the prescriptions I need on a regular basis before leaving the UK, but that will not help you much now... unless you have family in the UK, request prescription refill by post, GP mails it to family address, family picks it up and mails across. Not sure if you get this kind of thing through customs, though?

All prescriptions cost money here - and they don't come cheap either. None of your NHS cheap prescriptions. Can run into hundreds of dollars, depending on what you need.

Some jobs give you benefits through which you can reclaim 80% or so of the costs. I also here there is a way to reclaim some of it otherwise as a sort of tax break - but I have no idea how that works, to be honest.

Also, you don't always get the brand that you may have had in the UK over here.

My doctor decided to put me on what he felt was the same as my UK brand of pills and they definitely weren't the same, evidenced by the mood swings, spots, greasy skin, etc, etc.....so much so that I am saving myself a few quid and stopped taking them. I am a much happier bunny now as a result!

You include the receipts when you file your tax return and note the total in the appropriate box. You need a lot of receipts though as the tax break only kicks in after you spend a significant percentage of income.

I would willingly pay $22 a month insurance to avoid an accident that resulted in $250000+ in damage.

My nuts are on the block...its taken nearly 5 months to get an initial consultation with the local urologist...who knows how long after that for the deed to be done.

Typical. Blaming a pill for your attitude to life.

Women.....I ask you......

More seriously, my OH got several repeat prescriptions for her HRT from the UK before finding an alternative here that was as effective keeping her psychosis in check (joke). It's taken a couple of years to find the right dose and a brand that suits her like she had in the UK.

I think that I was more annoyed with my doctor (who has a bit of a god complex, but theres a shortage of doctors here so I cant change) insisted that the pills were the same when even a layperson such as myself could see from the leaflet that they had different compositions of hormones.....

It's no big deal really Iain.....unless you've fused tubes, the doctor gets hand cramps, you need 6 local anesthetic injections due to the time it takes, and 3 highly attractive female student nurses are on hand to observe. I'm still suffering the trauma 10yrs on :(

Indeed, a bargain at half the price.
Still, it sucks to go from paying $0 to $22+.
Lots of tinned soup dinners for me then.....unless someone's going to come along and tell me soup costs $10 a tin in Canada.

The guy who did my 'procedure' had a phone number something like 1-800-LAS-TKID....he himself had 7 kids so I'm not sure about the validity of the procedure.

Is it not free in Ontario?

I don't remember paying anything in Alberta when I had mine done many years ago.

Out of interest, does it work out the same price, regardless of how many packs you buy? ie, is there one dispensing fee, regardless of whether you get 1 months supply or 6 ? Or buy 5, get one free ;) You know what I mean ....

Book a holiday to Mexico. You can buy all the regular BCPs, and most other medicines in pharmacies without a prescription. The same brands, etc.
