People forget that Canada is generally south - Montréal is the same latitude as Bordeaux which means nice hot sun and lots of light...

Absolutely crazy! There were locals out fishing in the middle so we assumed it safe enough. Plus the ice is usually weakest near the shore and it was pretty solid there.
