Hi Stephen and welcome to the forum.

I believe that to work in Canada as a truck driver you need a class 1 licence (and I think 3 years of class 1 experience). Have a read of the following for more info......................http://britishexpats.com/wiki/Truck_Driving_in_Canada

So don't think you'd stand much chance of getting a Temp Work Permit with a class 2 licence although could be wrong as I only know what I've read on here and have no first hand experience of it.

Given the recession in Canada at the mo and the huge number of Canadians out of work, you may need class 1 to get that elusive LMO.

Hope that helps - might be worth asking the question on the trucking part of the forum if you haven't done already as no doubt the guys on there will be able to give you a definitive answer.

And, keep in mind that if you have a class 2 in the UK, it is not a reciprocal class of licence. You will be required to undergo all of the testing again here.
