depends where you are. Its taking 3-6 months total in Mississauga, Ontario and 7-11 months in Vancouver, BC. I am sure it varies a lot in other cities as well, but by and large its a lot faster since the last few months now.

Currently 16 to 19 months total in Calgary. We called this week to see if they'd lost our paperwork and were informed that having received everything from the CPC ,the Calgary office is taking approx 12 - 15 months to process it.

I suppose you do have to apply to the center nearest where you live

Calgary is bound to be busy what with all those bloomin' immigrants!

If it has gone outside published processing times with no explanation, have you thought of writing to your federal Member of Parliament to see if he or she can ask CIC what the reason for the delay is?

We know the application came to Calgary in November but to tell you the truth we have been too busy enjoying life to worry about it. We are doing everything we want to do, and would like to vote in the local elections but it is not a major issue. When I have time I will phone them and ask them, but our friends sent theirs a month later and are in the same position. I think it is like an earlier post....Calgary full of immigrants!!

It took 7 and a half weeks from posting my papers from England to having the pretty little card in my wallet.

Have I misunderstood something here, you are talking about citizenship having lived in Canada for 3 years. Then applied, took the test and then got sworn in, all in 7 weeks from England!! Where was your swearing in ceremony?
