Citizenship Application - incomplete!!
I have just received my citizenship application back saying it is incomplete.
1) says that Language evidence is not acceptable. I supplied my high school (Certificate Of Secondary Education) where it clearly states i passed English. Anyone have a clue why would they reject this? The only thing i can see is that it says a single course does not count - do they want to see other courses i passed as well maybe?? 2) says photocopies of school records for myself or dependent children are missing or illegible. I completed section G. I showed the names of both my children and the school of one and the dates applicable. My other child i showed the name info and age but he is only 2 so i left off the school as it is not applicable. Should i have left the second (non school age child) off the application and/or provided any other info as well? Any help or advice would be great? Many thanks |

Re: Citizenship Application - incomplete!!
fairly recently I believe, yes

Re: Citizenship Application - incomplete!!
As I understand it you now have to either:
1. Have degree level certificate where the whole degree was taught in English; or 2. Pass the requisite English test (as specified on the CIC website) and provide the proof of this (certificate I assume). The CSE English exam does not meet these requirements which is probaby why it was rejected. I think the rules around proof of language ability have been made more stingent over the last year or so. |
Re: Citizenship Application - incomplete!!
On the CIC web page it says:
3. Proof of completion of a secondary or post-secondary education program in French or English, in Canada or abroad, such as: A transcript, diploma or certificate from a secondary school; or A transcript, diploma, certificate or degree from a post-secondary school |
Re: Citizenship Application - incomplete!!
After visiting local cic offices even they are having problems with what is acceptable..for Citizenship..visit #1 ...both of us need to pass IELTS general LS.
visit #2... only OH needs LS and my o level results and letter from high school giving dates graduated (scotland).was proof enough. Got even stranger when i mentioned less than a yr and i wouldnt need them?/ the two ladies had no idea that after 55yrs you didnt need language requirements. jimmy:rofl: |
Re: Citizenship Application - incomplete!!

Re: Citizenship Application - incomplete!!
Yup, at 55 there is no test either. Or has that changed now?

Re: Citizenship Application - incomplete!!
Exactly as per magnumpi reply above i supplied my certificate that was my secondary school certificate stating in over 20 years ago i had passed English at school in England. How unbelievable can it be they reject this as not enough proof?? I am stumped as i dont know what to do.

Isn't a college diploma post secondary ? Am surprised that won't do. We have to appear tomorrw at Scarborough immigration so am hoping this is the interview. We applied a year ago so did not have to prove any English language skill.

Re: Citizenship Application - incomplete!!
So, to clarify, are trade certificates (NVQs etc) and english GCSEs not accepted for these purposes?
I also had an email from my prospective employer tonight advising me to consider booking an english language test now if I want to apply for permanent residency as quickly as possible as there is a 3 month backlog for the tests Is this normal for someone on a TWP to have to undertake such a test as part of the PR process? Again, are trade certificates (NVQs) and/or english qualifications such as GCSEs not accepted for this process? Thanks in advance |
Re: Citizenship Application - incomplete!!
i want to know is surely they will have all your information from when they issued your visa in the first place..so why would you have to send it all again?
