choices - do I stay or do I go

Would heartily recommend it if Vancouver has one. Oh, look, they have something similar... Urban Rec – Vancouver BC's Sport and Social Club
Do you think its possible the issue is with Canadian- British incompatibilities? Two friends of mine have just split and gone their own ways and the two different directions they've taken is proof of why the relationship/ marriage wasn't going to work. He's doing the same domesticated boring canuck stuff, she's off enjoying herself in a way I'd describe as recognisably british.
I sometimes wonder if it because I am not a size 0-2 and I don't wear yoga pants lol - although I have been told a lot of the guys how here get fed up with that anyway.

I think we tend to think "Canadians are really just Brits who talk funny" too much; we can talk about the work cultures, going to the pub, Christmas parties etc but less so about the real difficulties you can have in a slightly multi-cultural relationship.
So I think I'm saying have you tried dating brits out there and had the same experience as dating cradles?

I own 3 pairs of Lululemon pants bought over the years.
It's not so much the brand but the fact that they tailor the bottom of the leg so for track/golf pants they look a little smarter.
Not yet brave enough to sport a pair of leggings or run in the winter.

And by the way before anyone starts making wise cracks about my Canadian dress sense a woman at my office has told me I dress like an "Australian".

I have a few but I think I wanted to date outside my culture/fellow countrymen - I have found that I have stayed in contact with more of the British guys I have met up with here than with the Canadian guys...

Thanks, I'll look into it.
That's an interesting story. I have certainly found 'dating'' men here a challenge. Most of them have been very flakey and unlike in the UK where I could actually have a decent friendship with a guy without any romance, it has not been like that here.

I find this interesting .........
could it be because of the situations in which you are meeting these guys??
My daughter was born here so is Canadian bred, and she always had many more boy friends vs boyfriends. She had some very close friendships with guys that never approached romance, and some of those friendships have lasted until now. She keeps contact with them via email and FB.
She found it rather hard when she married and moved to NS that she could not form those same friendships over there ........ questions were always asked if she even went out for coffee with a male colleague.

Do you think there's a general "left coast" thing? The beach snobbery of California is reasonably famous but when I found Cape Town to be similar I started thinking.
To be fair I didn't pick up this vibe in Vancouver but I've only spent a couple of weeks there and have generally been so busy I may not have noticed...
