OH and I are just sitting here discussing do we actually have to go to the local office in Regina and inform them that we are now PR and we get a new SIN number without the 9 at the start?
OF course not knowing I cannot say so thought I would ask me fellow BE-ers

Yes. SIN numbers beginning with 9 are only for temporary residents. If you have got your PR you should go to your local Service Canada office to request a new SIN number.

Damn ! You might have to factor in some shopping and lunch too, seeing as you are there an' all !! Be a shame to waste the journey

sorry may not have made myself clear. We are here on a temporarywork permit so when it was extended we had to inform Saskatchewan Health so they would extend our end date otherwise we might go to the doctors/hospital and have to pay. sask has a good free health program for those on work permits, pr and citizens.
