Cat Food
I wonder if anyone knows if you can get iams dried cat food in Canada?
I've looked on the supermarket websites and can't trace it. Our cat is a real fusspot so yesterday I bought a large bag to bring out with us next month and have just read on an old thread that you can't take dried dog food into the country due to the meat content.I presume it is the same with cat food. I'm worried now that I shouldn't really take it.

Re: Cat Food
Yes you can (get iams pet food that is). You cannot bring any pet food containing beef products into Canada.

And Royal Canin. And, at the Coop Feed Store, a brand called "Barn Cat". A hundredweight of Barn Cat is $19.99.

I dunno, I haven't bought any yet. However, next week the OH is away and I shall be downgrading the cats from a mix of Purina Premium Something (when she shops) and PC Seven Flavours (when I shop) to Barn Cat. They're not short of protiens in the Summer anyway due to their daily mice and chipmunks.

Mrs AX rang me yesterday to tell me that Winston (Alpha male cat) had killed a rabbit the same size as him and presented it at the door. This morning he's done it again apparently. She said' I didn't even know we had rabbits round here' to which I replied 'We don't anymore'. I believe these are wild bunnies as opposed to domesticated. Hope so anywhere or I suspect we're going to get a visit from an irate neighbour.
Clemmie, our other cat who is a petite, skittish one year old has yet to make her first kill. We wait with anticipation......

For anyone else's cat, you also get Hills Science
We buy this brand for our cat but she prefers their Natures Best. Do they sell this in Canada? Also Purina Gourmet Solitaire has anyone seen this? She likes the slow cooked... I mean the cat eats better than I do!
Oh she ain't gonna be pleased if it's not available.

Re: Cat Food
If it's anything like Vancouver, there'll be no shortage of animal delis offering gourmet, organic food at absurd prices. Best not to think about all the homeless people eating out of garbage cans while shopping there, eh? Funny how most bums' dogs look better fed than their owners.
Hope not...
