WE had to shop around a lot, each getting quotes with brokers and each quote taking some time to produce. None of it was helped by a claim I had against me. Eventually we got insurance through Co-operators. This was ~1500. WE are paying a lot less this year as we have some sort of a discount, briging it down to $1100 for my car and $ ~1250 for OH's

Mostly its the danger of maiming someone and being sued for loss of earnings.

If you are going to hit a lawyer for example, make sure that you kill them so they cant sue

If you are not claiming, and your premium is increasing each year, then you really need to start shopping around and combining policies.

Thanks for all your help guys this is why I love BE

It looks as though we will be sorted soon and not stung too much, hubby got a quote of $1,500 for the both of us.

On a seperate issue

I know things can get heated sometimes on BE but it really is a helpful site at times. I would have been lost without it. I'm saying this because looking at some of the threads yesterday where things seem to have got heated. One person banned and another has decided to leave just remember that not everyone has the same opinions, and once you post a thread it is public and open for debate.

Everyone on here has had there posts/comments misread.
I have upset people sometimes myself, which I didn't mean to do.

Sometimes its hard for other posters to understand your situation not knowing you, which means the advice can be a little hard to give.

Well thats my speach over and once again a nice big thanks to you all.
