I cannot remember the name of the moisturising cream that you can buy that is supposed to keep mozzies away. I think it is made by Avon. Mrs keeps getting bitten and does not want to spray herself with deet all the time.

Cheers

The moisturiser you're looking for is Avon Skin so Fresh (used to be called Woodland Fresh).

I've found the body wash and dry oil spray in this fragrance works a treat at keeping mozzies at bay.

Another product, Skin-so-ugly, is the stuff you're allergic to and come up in an all body red rash with huge lesions and local bleeding. But the good side is that the mozzies stay away too.

Found it now thanks. Not sure which one I have ordered for her though...oh well...we shall have to wait and see.

Hope it works because she cannot go in the garden without getting bitten. The Bridgewater canal is at the bottom of the garden, which is probably a major factor.

I know midges are different from mozzies but I went up north a few weeks back and was getting eaten and then straight after I sprayed it stopped immediately.

My OH gets bitten more than me and he comes up in lots a red blotches when bitten by midges but when he uses the spray they don't bite him either.

We got a tip form a Walmart Pharmacist a few years back. If the bites itch and swell use Pile cream such as Preparation H. My friend was bitten badly becuse my idiot OH opened the car door at dusk whilst we were travelling down to Key West - water + dusk + open door = ready meal. The cream does work.

Did you know that if you add a tablespoon of Apple Cider Vinegar to a glass of water everytime you drink one that this is supposed to repel midgies/mossies.

Read that in a book yesterday at my Mums intitled
"1001 uses for Vinegar"

Recently bought some of the Avon Skin-So-Soft mozzie repellant - The mozzies this year have been blinking awful, even if you spray deet the huge great things still land on you and take chunks out of you - even through t-shirts, everyone has been complaining about them. We have also had a bumper dragon fly 'crop' this year, which is good because they eat the mozzies. As for the Avon stuff unless you usually buy an expensive skin ($9.99) lotion I wouldn't bother, although it does make your skin feel nice.

Just had a quick look on the Avon site. The Soft & Fresh range is currently on offer. Both the body wash £3.00 and the dry oil spray £5.00 are on buy one get one free.

As far as I know the Soft & Fresh is the only one which works against mozzies.
