Hmmm strange, the "parles anglaise" here on the West Coast, the stores are clean, but must admit aisles maybe narrow (but conform to WCB ie min. 36" wide) so unless you weigh 300lb!!!! they are wide enough.
As for pricing, they are comparable to most other box stores. But do agree, don't take your car there for servicing there.

We bought our microwave from Canadian Tire and we took it back after it stopped working six months later. They exchanged it without any problems. We've bought other stuff which has been fine. I just tend to not be very interested in it as a choice compared to other stores but for no particular reason.

When we first landed, we though CT was the best thing since sliced bread!
Now we have a home depot, we never go near CT!
Walmart is worse though.. always dirty.
I wouldn't buy in there if I was desperate. cheap American tat!

It IS a Man Thing! My husband loves it - but also likes TSC and Princess Auto - has been known to spend nearly a full day in the latter! Canadian Tire here in Southwestern Ontario - cramped, dark, staff not overly helpful or friendly - a bit grouchy. Actually the service over here has changed a lot since we were last here in the 80's - is it a global thing since 911, I wonder?

Like most large chains, it's all down to the guys that they hire. The CT in Cochrane has worked on my Outback and my wife's Pathfinder. More than happy with what they have done each time. They did get an external specialist in for anything non standard though.
