There are quite a few, although wait times can be long. But did your doctors not do appointments outside of work hours? We live very rurally, and even our doctors has two days a week where they have appointments from 7am and until 9pm for people that commute elsewhere to work.

They are closing the one in York. It will mean those that initially go there, wait for 1 hour, then be told yep it's broken, nolonger have to travel to go to A & E and wait a couple of hours longer.
They are incorporating it into the A & E.
No brainer really, once they have triaged the ailment/injury, you wait your turn to be treated. Never had a good experience at the drop in centres, for once a move in the right direction.
